Last night was CRAZY. We got to play in a tribute concert for CSN WITH CSN!!! :-)
We did Helplessly Hoping with those brilliant guys sitting 6 feet in front of us at a table. Tim was having guitar issues and Crosby and Nash yell “it’s not on!!” haha. We quickly fixed it and pulled ourselves together for the song.
Then the twins left the stage and Stephen Stills and Kenny Wayne Shepherd joined me for Crosby’s song Long Time Gone. Crosby just watched with his wife and they were smiling so I was thrilled!
What a night! Shawn Colvin was incredible, as well as The Head and The Heart and a few other folks including Paul Allen, who in addition to being one of the greatest philanthropists the world has ever known, is a pretty great guitarist! That really impressed me.
Stephen Stills plays the SHIT out of that guitar, its amazing just being onstage with the dude!
And Graham Nash really hits those high notes better than ever - PS. he is such a gentleman!
We joined CSN to close the night with Teach Your Children.
Needless to say I’m still flying high from the evening and I am deeply grateful for all that these three pioneers have brought to the world!
I’m proud to announce that this was our most successful Raise The Roof to date. We raised over $40,000 for the Looking Out Foundation!!!! Thank you to everyone who contributed and showed their support. We love you and there would be no foundation without you! Brandi & The Twins #lookingoutfoundation
To everyone who’s coming tonight: Brandi Carlile doors delayed until 6:30pm. Thanks for your patience!
Held at Seattle’s famed Triple Door, Raise the Roof’s attendees are an integral part of the evening as they are encouraged to take an active role in the Looking Out Foundation’s campaigns and grassroots efforts to support those in need at a local, regional and national level.
Since 2009, The Raise the Roof Benefit, hosted by AgainToday.com and Looking Out Foundation, has raised almost $100,000 for the Looking Out Foundation – focusing on causes such as The IF Project, Maple Valley Food Bank, Fight the Fear Campaign, Why Hunger and many more. Each September, 250+ attendees from across the United States and around the world spend an evening recognizing, celebrating and supporting these causes.
Raise the Roof 2013 will continue to encourage its attendees to take an active role in philanthropy – whether it be through volunteering, donating time/money, spreading the word about specific causes, etc. – through the Looking Out Foundation.
The evening will include amazing raffle items, presentations about Looking Out Foundation’s campaigns and causes, artist showcases by up-and-coming bands and highlighted by a special performance by Brandi Carlile (and maybe even a surprise guest or two).
Of particular note in 2013 will be the celebration of Looking Out Across America (www.lookingoutacrossamerica.com) as Melissa Mead and Erica Voesch wrap up their cycling trek along the TransAmerican Trail – raising money for and awareness of Looking Out Foundation – particularly focusing on the relaunch of the Fight the Fear Campaign
Auctions for the front row tables begin Sunday May 26th.
General ticket sales begin Saturday June 8th.

We have been playing the great cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul for many many years now and just about every time we’ve been there it’s because of an ass kicking music lover of a promoter by the name of Sue McLean. If you’ve ever wondered why we play in that town so much, it’s because she brought us there and nurtured the relationship between this band and our Minnesota fans.
Sue McLean lost a quiet battle with cancer yesterday and I wanted to send my love and prayers first to her daughter and family and second to the bands that loved her as much as she loved them.
Rest in peace Sue, thank you for Minnesota. You were a rock star to all of us and you are loved and will be missed dearly.
God bless and keep you.
Put in a good word for all of us scallywags with the man upstairs.
